i found this as i was looking for a black knobby wheel 9c without hoses cast (found one btw)...i found a 45 tread model with hoses cast...not listed on nicks guide...could this be a new variation or just one freak model that had fine tread wheels applied to it...here are some pics

the model you can see the fine tread wheels

Image

hoses cast and the fine tread in this pic

Image

the rivet looks legit to me

Image

another angle of the fine tread and hoses cast to be seen

Image

the model has glue on the wheels as i would guess it was on a train layout or a diarama

Is this common 5c red or late issue darker 5d red that was standard for other bpw 45 tread 9cs? Does it have the late 18 rung ladder commonly matched with these wheels or the earlier 17 rung normally found with this body? As 9c was in the 1-75 series production at the time there is every reason for pallets of unpainted and pallets of painted parts for this to be stored as leftovers from previous runs. I bet this isnt one of a kind -we only discussed the never coded 5c - 5d shades on fine tread 9cs a few months ago!

The body with the rear hoses cast was not used with the 10x45 black plastic wheels base so it looks like an older casting was pulled out of storage when they made this one, Does it have a gold or silver ladder Dan.
Does anyone else have one like this.
