For those who wonder what an "under-the-art head kick" is :D :

This refers to the lowest rung of the ladder on the left hand side of the camper rear which has a step on the left model and is perfectly straight on the right model.

There is an additional difference on the horizontal bar below the cast spare wheel, which is staggered on the left model and again perfectly straight on the right model.

Another difference I had never noticed before - thanks for showing!

BTW I think I know how the "head kick" came about: the German word "Leiter" has two entirely different meanings, either a ladder or the boss of a company or department (which may be translated as "head"), and the German word "Tritt" usually means "kick" but can also be used for a rung of a ladder (I would actually call it "Sprosse" in German, but this may be due to differences between the German dialects spoken in Switzerland and in Austria).

However, "under-the-art" has me stumped... :?:

It is always anew astonishing, on what we have to pay attention. In future I will get a neutron microscope and spend at least not less than 24 hrs a day for each of my gem.
But I am almost sure not to find any conspicuous characteristic........ :(

Always remember that we do not have to. Just some of us have fun doing it! :)

Hi Christian, Hi Mathias.
I have this camper with this shifted stairs.
My question is: Which model is more rare?

Absolutely... it's all about having fun, the joy of discovery, and sharing those discoveries with others! There's so much left to explore in the Matchbox universe! :D

Cheers,

It is most probably 50/50. I believe this is another case of two different moulds used concurrently.

In my own collection, among nine examples the ratio is 5:4 in favour of the straight line version.

I have two of these in my collection, one of each. 50/50 for me!!
