Those Lidl cabinets are great aren't they? I bought two as well and put some of my giftware in them.

Re: A new Glass Display
Mathias have you wall mounted those display cabinets?
How the hell do you wall mount those cabinets, they weigh a ton empty, never mind with a full collection inside!! I would be worried sick and probably would lie awake at night waiting..... listening.....for that almighty crash.
If i ever get to display my collection again. (2 very young children + very expensive collection = DISASTER) I would have those cabinets secured to a wall and sitting on top of a solid base unit!!! That way i could sleep with ease ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz
BTW my local Lidl still has several of those cabinets for sale. I might just pick up a couple and keep them flat packed till i need them!

Mine are wall mounted. It's a stud wall, so the uprights were located, and then new holes were drilled in the rear of the cabinets to coincide with them. 3" No. 10 screws used in pre drilled pilot holes of the correct diameter. The bases are sitting on the skirting board. They won't fall down, believe me! They are bloody heavy though. Getting two of them out of the shopping trolley into the back of the car on my own in the pouring rain wasn't easy I can tell you.

Re: A new Glass Display
Very nice! Yesterday I built my 2nd Lidl display case and am now 2/3 of the way through stocking it - they are too heavy for wall mounting by me but sit nicely on top of existing units in my home
Re: A new Glass Display
No Lidl in this remote corner of the World . This would need to be secured to a stud wall in NZ and places like Japan, Philippines, Chile, Italy and California due to the risk of earthquakes - looks like the sort of thing you would not want falling on you!

Gavin

Re: A new Glass Display
That is a superb display of models Mathias, I have one with all my early superfast models. As Alex has said these are very heavy displays, but look superb when all set up and loaded.
