Ford museum Exhibition with many Matchbox models ended !

Tuesday, june 25 I visited the Ford A museum again and this time I brought a camera with me to make photos of the Fords and the cabinets with modelcars of Ford. As you may already know 5 collectors including myself did bring Ford models to this museum for a temporary exhibition which started june 1st and was originally to run untill end of aug but now will run till thursday october 10. I brought my models a week earlier as I was in Sandown june 1st. There was a barbeque for NAMAC members (the dutch modelclub) that day and a 6rd collector who only collects Ford's said he would bring modelcars of his collection also. These are not yet on these photos as last tuesday they were not yet there. I put all my Ford models on display including the Matchbox models which were based on MOY castings like some of the Dinky models and quite some so called Retail models. The small book Carsten Oettler made a few years ago was of great use. The only Ford I didn't put on display was the 1912 Ford Model T 'Taystee" as it will cost me to much effort to get another one when something happens to the models.
This model stayed at home. There are no small variations, exept on the Ford model T car of which I have all the boxvariations and modelvariations (like textured roof, single handbrake, small wheels, plastic/metal steeringwheel) models on display. The promotional Code-1 for the USA club in 1976 is also on display, next to the other Ford Model A cars in black. I don't collect code-3 models but I have a few from Dutch modelshops and museums and clubdays and so on. These are on display also. This would not be a exhbition from me if I could not bring some sort of display and indeed on the topshelf in my cabinet there is a part of the 1966 disppaly rack for red FRED BRONNER blisterpacks as it shows the red Ford Model T Car.
This museum is housed in a former paper mill whose history dates back to 1680. The building burned down in 1872 but was subsequently rebuilt. In 1904 Herman Anton Geurts started a laundry here and then the building has stood empty for years. It was in 2008 that Nico Bredenoord came into the possession of the impoverished building and he managed to bring it back to its original state. This with the primary aim to transfer his collection of A Fords here. This collection consists of aprox 15 different models including a Fire Engine from the United States.
The A-Ford was introduced in December 1927 and there were no less than 4.8 million copies built. This model remained in production until December 1932 at which time Ford introduced the B-Ford. During the period that the A-Ford was available this model could be ordered in a variety of body styles. In a Ford sales manual from 1929, we see that the buyer had choice of no less than 12 standard models. There was still the A Ford pickup version and AA Ford as light truck.
The A Fords are not the only thing that the Tulleken Water Mill in Beekbergen has to offer for the visitors . Next to the museum you will find a beautifully landscaped plant center where one can enjoy the flowers. Everything is availble here, from seed to plant trees and to bush.
The Tulleken Mill is located at the address: Tulleken Molenweg 39, 7361 AND, Beekbergen (near Apeldoorn). It is open on afternoons from 13.00-17.00 on tuesday, thursday and saturday.
The landscape area is very nice there and I plan to my montly (july) walk with the walkinggroup there and bring another visit to the museum.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

This is for fishes to get trough.

Now to go inside:

There are 2 Ford Model T's on display and a Pontiac but all the other models are variations of the Ford model A.

This is one of the 3 cabinets with models of the 5 collectors.

I putted almost 200 models on display in the cabinet on the right.

More detailled photos of the other cabinet along the stairs. Dinky and French CCJ models and another collector putted trucks and ralley models on display (all Ford)

Lower 2 shelves for th 3rd collector who also collects buildingconstruction plates from cardboard.

This is such a cardboard building construction plate.

"my" cabinet:

There is a list of all the models with their numbers along the cabinet.

Back to the real cars in the museum and the many photos and drawings along the walls.

Some old plates (from schools) can also be found in the museum (I very much like these plates)

This is a very one (only 5.000 were made and only 29 were imported to the Netherlands at that time)

This one is in Amsterdam:

More schoolplates

This is the only Pontiac in the museum.

This the owners own modelcarcabinet.

Amsterdam schoolplate. Amazing tramcars on the drawing.

this is from The Hacgue.

Another one from Amsterdam (near central station)

picture from the former yearly carshow for new cars the netherlands. (RAI)

I had a ride with the owner of the museum with this 1929 Ford aprox 2 weeks ago

My place when we had a ride as i don't have a driving lisence ! (and another visitor was sitting next to the owner who drove this 1929 Ford model A with 4 cylindre 3200cc engine.

The small village Beekbergen is a nice landscape area. Just 2 photos but it differs on the other side of the village.

So a weeks left for a visit after the 2nd and final extension (now till thursday october 10 2013)
