Could be faded from the sun or chemicals.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Repaint: rivets drilled and body wear significantly less than baseplate wear.

Also signs of original paint to bottom edges of body and inside front wheel arches (have to magnify to see but it is there)

Good photos show this toy as an honest repaint with drilled rivits, all collectors need to do is study the pictures closely.

The paint on the front roof pillar looks awfully thick and excessively glossy. I would guess repaint.

Recemtly I was watching a site hut truck in the same red as a Leyland Ergomatic pipe truck. I never heard of them being this color so I'm wondering if it was I a well done repaint. Anybody?

If that's the one I'm thinking of (and I doubt very much whether there's more than one of these on Ebay), I didn't like the look of the baseplate rivets which appeared to be oversized, plus the body was as good as mint whilst the baseplate and wheels were extremely worn. Conclusion: repaint! (Having said that, the red did indeed look to be a very close match to the 10d Pipe Truck.)

Those rivets are only just hanging onto that base plate and no more, and those wheels are shot to F**k unlike the bodywork which just doesnt add up, looks a very likely repaint IMHO.

I just did a recheck on it and in the description the seller mentions it's a repaint. I knew there was something screwy with those rivets.
