I bought this Matchbox no 24 Silver Shadow in order to restore/repaint it.
But when I unpacked it and took a closer look, something caught my eye. The left rear wheel is all black, and the other three have the usual chrome rim. Turning it upside down I noticed that someone in the Lesney factory had apparently mounted the left rear wheel the other way around. Funny, so I leave the car as it is.
I am sure it is 100% original, nothing on this car, although showing play wear, has been tampered with.
Has anyone seen this before?

Re: 24c rear wheel inside out
That's pretty wild. Someone at Lesney should be fired for that.
I tend to trust rarities and error pieces more when they are playworn. It seems less likely that someone would go to the trouble of counterfeiting a banger.

Re: 24c rear wheel inside out
Agreed. Anyway that's a cool find. It almost looks like a regular black wheel from the side.
