Hello to all here, and thank you for allowing me to join. My name is Cam, I am a Paramedic who lives in British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. I am an avid collector of diecast toys, primarily Dinky, but have started a small collection of Lesney 1-75 series thanks to donations from a few friends. It seems whenever I get two of anything I have to start a collection. I must read up again of addictions in my medical books.
Again, thank you allowing me here and I look forward to reading all the posts.

Thanks Nick. I am rather afraid my collection would be a bit of an embarrassment here I am sure as it consists of donations that were well loved by someone in childhood. Rather damaged and scratched up. I have also donated a few of the better ones to a very good friend in Edmonton who was missing them in his collection. I am still sorting out the ones I do have, but am finding some difficulty in separating the enormous varieties in castings there seem to be. I have learned so much about these models that I had no idea about previously. I must say your index and site have been invaluable in this endeavor.

Hi Cam, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here and Nick's site makes the hobby so much more interesting. The main thing is that you have some fun with the models you collect, embarrassment doesn't come into it, you should see some of mine
but I still love them.

Thanks for the welcome John. I am still sorting out the boxes of models I received last month for a friend who is downsizing his collections. I hope to have the pictures taken and uploaded to my website today or tomorrow. then I can make a list of what needs to be upgraded and added to the collection. Sounds like it will be a bit of a busy time, but fun.

Welcome to the forum Cam
No need to feel embarrassed with your collection.
I have never seen anyone on this forum make light of another persons collection,
While some may have pristine models in boxes, others may have lesser models, and playworns, some may have a mix of all.
The common bond here is, we are "collectors", who enjoy the hobby.
So nice to have you and wishing you continued enjoyment with your collecting.

Nick, perhaps we can put on the "index board" a section titled, "Something About Members/ Introduce Yourself"
I recall we had that, on the orginal VBD fourm ( I believe it was Jazz who started the thread) seemed rather popular,
and that way, all the posts of this type, would be in one place.

I thank you all for your warm welcome. I had stumbled across the Lefora forum and Nick's wonderful guide to the series, but couldn't join the forum. Nick wrote me to say he had changed forum formats and I was able to join with no problem. Lot of information to absorb with all the maddeningly subtle variations of models, but I am slowly making sense of it.
I am certainly no mint / box collector at this time, just getting a set together with what I pick up from friends and garage sales, but it is interesting to say the least. If anyone is interested you can see my various collections at
www.sinanju.ca and follow the links to Dinky, Corgi, Matchbox etc.
Again, thanks for the welcome, and I hope to chat with you all as I get more familiar with these models.
