A Bit if an Oddity

Post by Cam »

While sorting out a few boxes of Matchbox items I came across these. One is the MB715 Alfa Romeo on card #4, while I found an identical model on a card marked #73 "Ladder King" which I think is MB660 by my research. Must have been an off day at the factory.

Hello Cam, it is amazing what you can find regards models on wrong blisters or in wrong boxes.

I have never known how modern Matchbox controlled the flow of models into the right packaging, presumably its computer controlled, not like the old days when they just rolled down a conveyor belt into the right area for manual insertion to the correct boxes!

I have a Rolls-Royce blister packed onto the wrong card and I have a pair of boxed LLEDO models sent through the postal system and still sealed, to this day there is no telling what models are actually inside the box, I will never know, because I intended to have a set of these models, (again they are Rolls-Royce) as mint as the day they left the factory, so who knows...

Regards,

I gather it all happened at once as well, as I have 5 or 6 of these mis-carded ones. Only have one of the proper carded model!

PS: Has that box made it there as of yet?
