Yes indeed Kevin, that is the look of a man I can envision in the passenger seat of a Rolls Royce, his heart filled with pride in his son behind the wheel and his son's automobile as well. Thank you for sharing the picture!

Thank you Greg. I was very proud of him, not for any significant achievement in his life, just for being there when I needed him and for sharing some of my hobbies.

He was the one who took me into town every Weekend through the 1960's to the toy superstore and asked what Corgi, Dinky or Matchbox model I wanted. He brought me my First push bike, later buying me a 10 speed racing bike. He made my one and only toy Go-Kart out of bits of wood and cycle wheels. He made a toy fort for me and put a little electric light inside and I cried for most of the night until Mum and Dad came upstairs to go to bed and he came in to see what I was crying for and I said the light was in the wrong place, but I did not not have the Heart to tell Dad it was wrong, so upset myself over it. He did move the light for me the next Day and told me I should have just told him it was wrong, not bottle it up inside me, that's how sensitive I am!

Sounds a bit like my dad Kevin as he to made me a toy fort when I was young and also came home on a racing bike after riding it all the way from Peckham to Fulham after work ( ionly had old bikes made up from scrap bits we found laying around. he also bought me a huge Hornby layout which filled our 14x 12 lounge all but for a foot all the way round and I remember him making more trees for the layout from pipe cleaners etc and painting them with London Transport green paint. Only problem was I never got much of a go on it as all his card playing mates on a Friday night used it and when he was broke he sold it all ! My old man would give away the whole house If you let him, he was that kind of bloke, loved his fishing as well.

Hi Ghosty,its sad how we go thru losing our Dads in our lifetime being a painful & memorable certainty at that and sorry about this great loss to u all. I can only imagine your hearts pain,feelings & thoughts right now but know that ure a one-in-a-million soul who can boast about having no regrets cos uve done what a cheerful child would do to/for any loving parent thru the "good & bad" times.
Hold onto the good memories and celebrate his life.
Our hearts go out to u and your family so do accept our deepest condolences and may u find strength in these trying times.
