G'day Ian
Yes, it is sorry. I saw you had bid early on and was surprised you didn't show up on the last lot of bids on the bid history.
Picked up the other pre-war train yesterday too from Nigel in Chch, seemingly non original axles and potentially over painted too. But no fatigue, so fingers crossed I can remove the non original paint. Pics to come
Cheers

Yeah - family issues got in the way and I never got back towards the end of its run.... looked at Nigel's piece also but decided the new bathroom had to come first - or was that the wife's decision...

Nice additions Dave but I'm puzzled by the #25y Jeep, certainly an uncommon colour in that medium Blue then with Yellow wheels, Hmm, different, have only seen Black before now but what puzzles me is the spare on the rear of the body, are these not normally the same colour as the road wheels, or do I not know as much about Dinky as I thought I did...

Hi Ghosty
My One is actually a 25j, the images for the model all show the spare on the rear in the body colour.
The 25y has the thicker screen surround and the spare on the side in the colour of the rest of the hubs.

Hi Ewan
Progress shots below, The paint was easily removed with a wire wheel in a dremel, I'm still considering whether I chemical strip it to get rid of all the paint around the windows. The paint was extremely thick in places and was covering some pretty impressive casting detail for a pre war model.
I've decided on Cream and French Blue as the colour scheme. I've also located some crimped axles which will replace the copper wire which was used as axles previously.
Along with today's sole arrival a Purple Mk1 Capri Facelift
And with its counterparts already in my collection.

Fantastic, I had the very same coloured Capri and it got a lot of play time with me, because despite being fitted with the Dinky 'Speedwheels', they managed to keep the wheel and tyre combination looking very accurate and I loved the way the model ran on those wheels with soft rubber tyres, a great model and thank's for showing it here to bring back some fine memories for me.
