Very nice selection, Nick!
Are you going to find drivers for the 'empty' ones?
Cheers,
Ken

If I see them loose or in beaters at a toyfair I will buy them but I think repro ones detract from the model.

Hi Nick, I feel the same way about repros in general. IMHO, any such component or item not original to the model detracts from its integrity. I think one purpose of repros is to fill a niche in the collectors' market and give a certain 'feel good' factor. Another is to provide a temporary 'stop-gap', pending acquisition of the real thing. Personally, I'd rather go without, than have an artificial substitute.
Anyway, best of luck in finding 'donor' cars to salvage the drivers from!
Cheers,
Ken

Funny, I saw a box of about 30-40 superfast models at a boot fair some 20 years ago, They were mostly playworn and I did not collect superfasts at the time but the box had obviously been someones toybox and in the bottom of the box there was a layer of racing car drivers, studebaker dogs & hunter, various ladders, barrels, hay cart staves, stalwart covers etc etc etc.
So I asked how much for the whole box, -£2, Well I could not say no. so I bought it.
Years later I actually got to sorting out the cars I realized the toys must have been bought for twins as there was two of everything, and they were all pairs, same colours etc, all except the rolls royces, there was one in metallic blue, and one in yellow gloss!.

Was mucking around on etsy this evening and when I saw this listing I immediately thought of this thread. Looks very like the Y7 Mercer to me, made by 'Dash' in Hong Kong. I'm afraid I don't know how to 'borrow' pictures so you'll have to follow the link....

Hi Ewan, it is one of a series of Matchbox inspired polythene models and can be found marketed by...
...'CORNUCOPIA'
...'P & C'
...'LN'
...'LARAMI CORP'
...'LEXYON'
and now...
...'DASH'
I did not have 'DASH' on my listing for these models, so thank's for finding that one, I have now added it and will post a fuller listing of Copies and Inspired models pretty soon,
Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.
