I believe we met again at Patrick Trench's stall when I was admiring the strange "Tour de France" red barrel on wheels he had, and I mentioned the Blue Box catalogue?

Not the most best Sandown i have been to, but happy to pick up a Dinky two tone blue streamlined bus with open rear windows but missing rear wheels and axle for £20, and a Lone Star "Fire Fire" fire engine, with a very interesting box with a label giving the DCMT address stuck over the "Crescent" sign on the box

The 'FIRE! FIRE! model dates to around 1949, does yours still allow the fireman to scamper up the extending ladder, great play value for it's time!

Good to see lots of you at my stall on Saturday and put faces to names, or at least pseudonyms. Sold a lot of Matchbox, but very little Dinky or Corgi. Suppose there are less stalls with a wide range of Matchbox and lots of competition for the others.

I visited Sandown yesterday saturday may 28th. It had been 18 months ago and I very much enjoyed it.
The journey from the Netherlands from friday evening throught Belgium, France and the ferry from Calais to Dover went well allthough customs took ages.
At Victoria station another 45 minutes was lost because of customs and a small parcell I had with me with a Rolls Royce model with a radio inside for Kevin The Ghosthunter had to be opened.
We fianlly arrived at Sandown at 8.00 in the morning.
So many vintage toys all together.
I met many old friends including Garry Matthews, Bob Tutt, Paul Carr (who had a stand since many years) John Moore, Reg, Philipe Sergeat and 2 friends from Belgium, Holger from Germany, Graham Hamilton and more.

Next to him was the stand of Bob may who had these Yesteryear sets amongst many other Matchbox items.

Rob Freeman had a nice stand and a special display case with the rarer Superfast models, motor with chrome fork, VW Van with different wheels, Ford Mustangs in orange red etc etc

Paul Carr was there with a stand since over 4 years he told me. Graham Hamilton from Rockerton Toys shortly came along there and a nice box full of models which were never released including a handmade white metal model for the Models of Yesteryear range made by a craftsman outside the Lesney Factory.

Kevin (The Ghosthunter) was to late for the grouppicture this time !

Bob and I left for the south around 12.30 and what a lovely tour it was via Seaford and the famous chalk cliffs to Eastbourne.
It was the 2nd time I visit Bob's collection and what an amazing collection it is. Far more models were added since my last visit and the cabinets now all have glass. Superb preproduction models, a very nice plated section and many many models most of us can only dream off.

After a lovely dinner I took the 19.00 train from Eastbourne (see photo) to Victoria for my 21.30 nightcoach back to the Netherlands.
