Not in great condition like Dan's but I finally managed to hook one of these in a bunch of beaters:

Just noticed that this one and Dan's have a different moulding below the front door.

Nice one JB, the same detail bellow the doors is on the version without any ridge along the bottom edge

Here is the 'Press release' picture showing treaded tyres, no sill moulding and narrow ladder clamps on the roof.

Hi John, I have just got another one of these(playworn) the same type as Dan, with the recess below the front door.
My other one is the same as yours. Also the the top light casting is thin the same as the early one, there must be a few variations on this one now.

Hi Jason, that's great. You're right, along with the baseplate there are a few variations now. I don't know quite where they fit with pre and early production but it's good fun finding them.

i acquired the no sill model today...dead mint and so is the box...as i reread this thread ill describe the model as i dont have a new photo hosting site yet

as i said...it doesnt have the sill

the hose holes are closed

no (A) on the base as well as no pat app

it has the dual locker doors

the area under the axle clips are smooth

the detail at the front foot step is there

the ladder holders are small...i checked the half sill model and it has the longer ladder holders

so thats about it...its your general run of the mill first run model...and i love it!

That sounds like a great find Dan and I really would love to see it.

Since the debacle with Photobucket, I have been using 'postimage', very easy and free (for now!!).
Here are Two links to that host.
