Well done Kurt.

Thank you Goastie!
This is the second GPW dark green 27b I've found in the past few years.

So far, I haven't found any 27a's nor any light green 27bs. Perhaps more dark green 27bs were sent to North America than to other parts of the world; Charlie Mack 's guide does not put as large a premium on the dark green over the light green 27b as compared to Nick's guide.
Happy hunting!

A few recent additions.
First, most importantly, with many thanks to Stephan (Malibu) a 46b Pickfords with bumper.

And second:
A SF17 London bus with Bergen Paint livery in sealed 1980 blister pack. The hanger backing has been trimmed at the top but the model is in mint condition and the blister is complete and uncracked.

1980 is a bit out of my typical collection range but it was so nice, I couldn't pass it up.
Please pm me if you are interested in this model.

Enjoy!

I am happy with the improvement without doing irreversible damage to the model.
Thoughts?

I think for your own personal enjoyment and collection what you have done is fine, it's when you then pass it off as a genuine pairing for Money, without explaining the details, you find yourself in hot water.

From an avid collector's point of view, the base may well have come from a different point in the model's 'Time-Line' to the body it now has unless a study of all the casting faults and surface abrasions can be seen to be the same between the Two bodies. If they are then the body swap you have done is perfectly acceptable for me.

It's only fraud if the intention is to defraud. (Isn't English an odd language?)

Thank you for your understanding.
Certainly I’d prefer to find a nice clean 47b with the original body on the GPW base that’s within my budget. So the hunt goes on!.
Until that day comes along, this replacement 47b body will be an improvement over the over painted body.
Happy hunting!

Rescued this 4D1 blue stake truck from a vendor’s junk box in Canada:

The 4D1 in the middle had a gold stripe spay painted from the rear of the stakes to the roof of the cab. A bit of work with a tooth brush and some warm water and tooth paste has taken off most of the gold paint. Still a bit on the cab roof and in the deep grain of the stake bed.
(Sorry for the artificial light source. By the time I get out from work, the sun is down. If we have decent weather this weekend, I will reshoot in natural light. )

The tagged 4D4 is from my childhood G3E Farm Giftset.
