This is sounding better all the time, after reading the posts above. Great as to larger pics; and the 20p thing upon listing doesn't bother me a bit. I guess when one lists something it just asks you to pay? I'll test it out here soon myself.
But, multiple images for sellers... how many, or is more even possible?

Re: VBD Auctions
So, I thought to myself, I would go and check my paypal balance now that I had 10 fully paid for auctions running including one extra special all singing all dancing auction worth 35p from Misterpop. I must be getting seriously rich by now. Woohoo.......
And my paypal balance - an amazing, incredible, fantastic....................13p, WTF ???
Those greedy f***ing bankers at paypal are charging me 20p to receive each 20p payment. so if Ian had not paid me the extra 15p for extras I would be left with the grand total of 0.00.
So I have refunded all payments, So now you can run the balance up to £10ish and then pay, keep paying the 20p per auction by day - and I'll refund you each night.
What a wonderful way to do business. thanks paypal...............your company is a fucking JOKE. not to mention owned and run by a corrupt bunch of criminals.
Oh for a world without banks. bliss,
I really really really should have known exactly what to expect, especially as those total a***holes at BARCLAYS cost me an extra £400 in motor insurance - all because my insurance documents were a day late, Which was because my insurance company had accidently posted them to a field in Scotland instead of my sons flat, for the fourth or fifth time. In 12 months. despite me phoning them on 4 or 5 occasions to give them the correct postal address.
It was the second time the documents had accidently been sent to the field, The previous occasion I needed to produce them at the Paisley Police station, I had been stopped by armed police while driving a customers car. My "accomplices" and I were suspected in being involved in a violent assault, my accomplices were 9 months pregnant and her 2 year old daughter.
The police finally realised it was a case of mistaken BMW, But I still had to produce my documents at the police station. so I arrived at the police station clutching my MOT (vehicle test) certificate but without my motor insurance certificate. The police officer said "thats no good on its own" and sent me on my way.
So here I was, 2 weeks later, with yet another insurance document, back at the police station, I showed the duty officer my certificate, where's your MOT certificate he said, I gave it back to the owner because I had already produced it, well we have no record of it - you'll just have to produce it again.
And with that he shoved the insurance document back at me. But he must have recorded it I protested, he assured me it had not been recorded as being produced.
The officer would have recorded it if you had you produced it sir he said once again.
But again I protested it had been produced, So, You always record all documents when being produced I said.
Yes sir, that is correct he said.
always ?.
now if there's nothing else sir. we are very busy.
I turned to leave, and then it struck me, I asked him to show me where he had recorded my documents, He snatched the insurance certificate back out of my hands and took it into another room to enter the details in a book. I heard nothing further from the police despite it being recorded that I could not produce my MOT.
I have to be really honest here. 99% of the Scottish police I met could not be more helpful so I would not want to smear their good name, I have the utmost respect for them, And some of my best mates are Scottish policemen

Wow Nick, just... wow, regarding paypal, and your other dealings with "the man." Can we just form a new country or something, with something like freedom?
I can't say enough to thank you and all the mods--and members--who do so much and care so much to make this place happen.

Re: VBD Auctions
I logged in to the auction site this morning and it appears that as soon as an item is bid on the auction end time is brought forward (to 3 days from time of bid?) which doesn't bother me, it just seems a little strange.....

Re: VBD Auctions
According to their site: PayPal charges sellers a fee of between 1.4% and 3.4% on the total sale amount plus a 20p per transaction.
Would it perhaps be better to use a system like esnipe do? Rather than charge on a per auction basis, people would buy 'points' in advance for a minimum sum that makes financial sense. For example, an up-front fee of £3 would net Nick about £2.70 after PP fees. If the £3 payment were to put 300 points into someone's account and a basic auction was set at 20 points, it would pay for up to 15 auctions in advance - and any extras could have their own point values.
Can the new site operate such a system?

Re: VBD Auctions
That is what I have found and I am sure it will get sorted out at some period..Good job we are running what amounts to test auctions at the moment...Poor Nick must be tearing his hair out trying to patch all the glitches up and what a great job he is doing...This sort of auction is what has been needed on the net for a long time.If they kept the selling and bidding to die-cast collectors we really would be a great close knit community. When you look through other stuff on Ebay for example and see what the people sell that gets them negative feedback it makes you glad you are selling in the relative safety of die-cast cars. You meet a nicer class of person on these sorts of sites ..Except for the fakers of coarse. .Ewan wrote:I logged in to the auction site this morning and it appears that as soon as an item is bid on the auction end time is brought forward (to 3 days from time of bid?) which doesn't bother me, it just seems a little strange.....
Lets hope now the rest of the Matchbox ,Dinky etc collectors world wide latch on to what I like to think of as OUR AUCTION SITE and help to build the VBDF into the premier site for our collecting discussions.....Keep it going Nick we all love you..xxxxx
Heres the man with the bargains.Always open to offers from this sites members..http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/misterpop/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25
Re: VBD Auctions
As Ewan and misterpop mentioned, I too noticed the auction closing move up upon bidding. I'm glad they saw it too... I thought my mind was playing tricks on me.
