Had a look at 'RWCToys' inventory and I could not see the #46b model myself, never mind, I did see some other nice Lesney models from '1-75 Series' to 'Superfast' and 'Yesteryears', etc, so it is worth a good long look at what they have got, so thank's for the link "Lrrp59", nice one.

No problem, I found it and while I am no expert on this particular model, it looks right to me against other models from the same period. Shame there is no baseplate photo, always a good way to have a view on a models originality. The green paint on my laptop's screen looks good, not too glossy and shiny and not too dull and lifeless. The axle ends again look good.
There is a lot of debate about this version as being faked in the factory, I don't know about that, but somewhere there may just be an original version and this may be it.
If you yourself are interested you might ask the vendor for a few more pictures, especially the baseplate and rivet head detail.

Ghosty.

I have contacted the seller. Robert Brennan. He is the person kwackers refers to on many threads. Purchased many items from him, even before e-bay. If anyone can speak to legitimacy of this variation he should be the one.

OK, that's a good start, I've come out of the EBay listing for the model now and can not remember if it was auction or buy it now pricing, if it's buy it now, I would at least get all the refunding and postage issues clear in your mind as soon as you can, there are lots of past forum members here with sad tails of 'EBaying' going wrong for them, if you are a regular EBayer then you know far more about that stuff than I do, so all I will add now is if you go for it good luck and if you win it, post some pictures here for us.

The one that has been most recently discussed had on odd look to the decals. Looking flat. Not the intaglio look that all water slides of Lesney manufacture present. A large gamble on a model with so many questions.
Even knowing the seller I would have much hesitation on placing a high bid until further evidence of the validity has been proven. Thus far it has not.

I can't speak enough about Bob Brennen's honesty and his years of devotion to our Lesney Hobby. I have absolutely no reason to question the originality of anything Bob has EVER offered under RWC Toys, we have known each other since the late 1960s as fellow pen pals and Toy Show attendees. That being said, watch a couple of Items that may differ from today's codings, and check his pictures very carefully as mistakes and differences can sometimes be found. When you advertise hundreds of Toys out of a life-long collection, sometimes errors also occur.
Example #1: His 2 different 47C DAF Container Trucks offered are described and pictured as having either light gray or dark gray roofs. The difference in them is that Bob has defined the common silver roof as a light gray instead of silver as we now have it cataloged. They both look gray on E Bay's pictures, but the lighter one is silver, I have recently bought one that is now an additional spare for me.
Example #2: There is a 5C Bus advertised with a smooth roof that would be one of his rare variations on that model. When you look at Bob's pictures, you find the Bus is actually a 5D with interior, not a 5C without interior. I have just contacted him tonight about changing that listing, and it did take me at least 5 curly figure screens and a big hassle to do so through E Bay.
All this being said, Bob must offer full refunds by E Bay/ Paypal Rules, but also has a disclaimer about not being responsible for listing errors. Look and bid carefully, Bob's Mint models are mostly store stock he bought from distribution centers in 1970 as the Superfasts were replacing our favorite Regular Wheel Lesneys. Cheers!

Damage to the casting makes me suspect that a standard decal was removed before this 2 liner was fitted. Just as some Americans hold the opinion that one C Mack has been linked to some obvious fakes, it is entirely possible that somebody else with an awesome collection has one or two fake needles in his haystack!

This is simply not possible with either Bob Brennen or the late Harold Colpitts at any time in their life Mick. Their eyes were too keen in protecting our hobby and their personal collections. Their honesty has never been questioned at all here in the U.S. Mick, and both their personalities never allowed for such behavior as you may suggest above at ANY price. This type of accusation and association would have been absurd in 1968, and certainly is nowhere near appropriate here 45 years later in 2014. For the first time in my 6 years on this Forum, I would ask a moderator to expunge Mick's remarks on Bob's listed 2 line green Pickfords Van. This is the type of remark and conduct here that is unacceptable, unfounded, and belongs on your friend Mark's site, not at all here.
I did message Bob to expect some inquiries on the #46 2 line green Pickfords 2 days ago, and I see the listing has now been struck from E Bay by him. His E Bay answer to the question of whether the variation was ever a legitimate one was actually a very short and public "I have no idea".........That is exactly my answer on the green 2 line Pickford, other than now knowing that several have been found in circulation, and also that Antonin has his Great factory repaint to add to our bank of knowledge. I have been waiting anxiously for SCM to cast some new knowledge on the subject, but that seems like a lost wish now.
I also alerted Bob to his mistake on the #5D Bus being listed as a 5C, and that model's listing is now gone as well.....kwakers

Well done kwakers alerting your old friend and credit to him that he pulled the auctions as soon as you told him. However as you assure us those listings were made by him in good faith then clearly his judgement is no longer what it was. Harold Colpitts might well spin in his grave if he is aware of kwakers´comparing his ethics and skills to aged 2014 Bob LOL!
