It is currently in the UK and will go to some toy fairs and possibly the odd club night. The NEC is coming along and my intention is to take it there, but any time this Year I am sure we will meet up somewhere so you certainly can have a look at it Jason.

The White model for it's glazing I do not know.

The Lilac-Tan model with the White model's Green glazing went for £5,500 in May 2015.

I have now found within Nick's original notes on the White model that it also sold for £1,000.

That seems to be the going rate then for these rare Caravans, i would think the metallic green version that remains with the original owner will be the star of the show should he ever decide to sell it and will make much much more than £1000.

That's if you rule out Hardy's theft by Fraud of 5,500 pounds sterling for a Fake one which he made at home.

I will never be able to rule out such an act Joe. I hope the new owner learns the fact that his "Rare" Trailer is not anything that it was represented to be. But, from Hardy's act of greed came a purpose to save this second Caravan from the same treatment.
From a collector's standpoint Motorman, the green colored Caravan is not only the cleanest one, but also proof that these window units were being experimented with very early in this Caravan's life in 1960. It would now appear to be unique in it's exterior green color with it's "leaded" windows, but we older veteran collectors never thought four such different glazed Caravans would be found hidden together in a box either. Who can tell what the future may hold with some of the rarest Lesney discoveries still turning up today. The clear windowed Caravan also seems unique with those unknown windows in it that have been broken at one time, so trying to set a value on that one is anyone's guess. UNIQUE is the key word on that distressed looking sole surviving clear windowed Lesney pre-pro. Who would have even guessed that a clear window had been tried along with the Great look of those crosshatched versions.
The three of us have done what is best for our Hobby, to preserve a historic model for what it always has been, not profit from its demise. Thank you all Forum members for recognizing not only what this Caravan represents, but for appreciating our motives as honest true collectors. Your comments are all heart warming......Except of course:
I really have to say Miller, your German humor with your live drill will now bring me reoccurring nightmares for a bit. Too soon lad, and much too graphic for some of us who watched the results of that first Caravan's rivets and glaze being butchered......
Make sure Miller is nude when he is examining this one Ghosty, take no chances with him...... However, I think Kay (Another German) is O.K. to handle it clothed.... kwakers
