Is it true that some Bulgarian models are still being made over there?
There are plenty of cool variations they did.

The original Bulgarian based company is still in business making toys. The origins of the company that brought Bulgarian Matchbox models to market has morphed into a single entity, but they still have the rights to use the 'Mikro67' brand name and the 'MUKPO' brand name.
I have not seen any recent Bulgarian made Matchbox models, but that does not mean to say they are not being made, if they are, they are outside of my collecting interests so tend not to come my way.

It is true, but it seems that they are ending production. As the original two sets of model castings were returned long time ago, they only have selected models in their inventory. Also, the prices were increased some time last year.

Matthias i cannot believe you are being lured over to the dark side. Please go and sit in your Matchbox (Made in England) display room for the next week to remind yourself what 'genuine' Matchbox models looks like!!
