Hi Kevin

I haven’t even scratched the surface, see links on British and French production below, the pre war gift sets are ones I’d love to own, prices are stellar and dreams are free...

Yes Dave, they are not terribly rare here in Canada. I have found 4 of them locally over the years, including this near-mint boxed beauty.

I also know other collectors here in Canada that have found multiples. I do not believe the story that there were only 500 made. I do believe that most were sent to Canada though.

I will keep you in mind next time!

Scott

The Fairlane is a beauty! Interesting choice of body style, too.

Yeah, but something got lost in translation.
The 2-door sedan should have the longer 2-door doors.

I did some searching and found this picture...

The doors on the Dinky do look a smidge too short!

I bought the three commerical vehicles below from the same seller over a number of weeks. Single owner all approx the same era with plastic wheels. The dust came free....

The final arrival for 2020 took a very long time to arrive because of Covid, nearly 8 weeks. I really wanted this model so was very nervous it had gone missing. It's another pre war aircraft, this one is a bit special as it is two aircraft fused together. The original was put into use to increase the range of the smaller flying boat by not expending fuel on take off. Long range tanks were nearly a decade away and only prompted by WW2.

This is one heavy model as the lower Maia aircraft seems to have a high lead content (hence the fatigue). The previous owner had done a dodgy repair on one wing tip and the glue has discoloured. But I wasn't about to be able to get a mint one of these, so I'm happy. I've loaded up the fatigue cracks with liquid super glue to keep the moisture out, so hopefully that's stabilised it for another 80 years at least. I can imagine these indigo blue boxes would have been incredibly striking when sitting on the shelf as new.

Dust certainly isn't something I'd pay extra for.

All joking aside, more very nice additions. The dustcart looks like a fun piece with tons of play value!
