today I bought a Mercury Commuter Police Car.
But is it a code 1 or 2 - what is the difference betwen the black and red wheel strip?

Thanks Stephan
Well, the colour of the wheel strip which may be either black or red (red being more common).

The wheel strip is the plastic strip which holds the wheels and axles in place and provides suspension. It can be seen by peeking inside the wheel arches from below.

After a long time with no new models today I received some old ones.
No. 35 Dinky made in 1946-48 with loose tyres
No. 7 Austin Taxi made by CH in Hong Kong - is that correct? It´s a exaxt copy of the Matchbox Austin but without the interior and driver.
Small Barclays Limousine
And a Britains convertible. I do not know which car it is.

Two more models in the collection.
The scammel was a model which I received as a eastern gift I guess it was 1971.
It is amazing that after all those years the colour, shapes and details of the model are still very common to me.

Is that a silver 53a, or just yet another sunfade?

Nice selection of models there Stephan :) I think the Britains car is called an open sports car, from the Lilliput World series. Hopefully someone can add some information about it.

Very interesting. I hadn't realised that the tractor and horse-drawn cart were part of the same series.
