Pilen of Spain made a knock-off of the Corgi Oldsmobile Toronado that actually one-upped Corgi. Pilen's version was modified with opening doors. A close inspection shows that some of the component parts would probably interchange between the two.

This little beauty is Made in Hong Kong and is exact same size as Corgi...Must be copied from the chassis cab version as the back end is glued on where the split is on the Corgi...Some one on here has a yellow version of this with no back end on..I may even bid on it..

One of my all time favourite Corgi items, number 1137 Ford Express Service Truck and Trailer.
and a fantastic plastic copy.
This was made in Hong Kong and marketed by MEREHALL often shortened to just 'MH' and it is a very good copy with virtually all the corgi features represented.
The corgi original when new in the late 1960's retailed for just under 26/- you can buy the plastic version for a three figure sum off ebay if you are lucky to find one!

Further to my post above, here is a picture from the company's website showing the Walls' Ice Cream Van but this is only a prototyp, the actual model is more refined and has a plated grille and bumper.
They have also released details of planned future models, all from the Corgi range so here is what I know so far...
#155 - Lotus Climax Formula 1 Racing Car.
#258 - The Saint's Volvo P1800.
#330 - Porsche Carrera 6.
#267 - Batmobile with Batman and Robin.
#417 - Land Rover Breakdown Truck.
#325 - Ford Mustang Fastback.
There is also a Monti Carlo Mini but not sure which version as Corgi relesed a couple on different catalogue numbers.
These will only be available by order, not through any retail outlets so essentially they are direct to customer models.

Original dies or re-tooled?
Too bad I don't live in the UK.

''Original dies or re-tooled?''
I am not sure yet Bill but the Batmobile is described as 'Rocket Firing' which sort of implies original dies. Soon as more info is known its posted here.

I now have details of the Monti Carlo Mini mentioned earlier and I show here the proposed model.
So far this company have been showing original issues of the models they intend to offer, so the finished actual relesed model may be different in minor details especially tyres as they do not use original tyres for the re-issues.
