Hey Johnboy,
very nice shades of the Purple Pontiac you are showing. On this model the condition doesn't matter. It is a really nice casting.

I always felt it was a shame they cast the doors shut on this model. Funny how they did it with some other transitional models too but others they left with the opening doors. I wonder why?

Colour consistancy. Spray the doors seperately from the body and you may well end up with a different shade and once on the model, it spoils it. Look at any Dinky Toys #127 Silver Cloud in Gold as an example. Cast the doors shut and the whole casting gets the same shade of paint.

Or...

Budget restraints, cheaper to cast with the doors in situ than have seperate castings!
