Funny you should mention Rolls-Royce wheel-nuts, on one side of the car they tighten 'Clockwise' but on the other side of the car they tighten 'Anti-Clockwise', with little directional arrows impressed into the nuts outer edge, so the 'Kwik Fitters' of this world know which way to swing on their air-guns to get a wheel off the car!!!

That reminds me..Dont truck wheel nuts work that way? Seem to remember a twin wheel Transit had them..Could be wronge..

Yes Ian they do, my recovery truck was the same, the rotation of the wheel keeps the nut tight, if both sides of the vehicle were clockwise, the nuts on the wheels on one side would work loose.

Yes, some wheels that spin 'off-axis', have to have 'slip restricted inverted grip threads'...
