Last weekend was our twice yearly major swapmeet here in Auckland. I circulated for a couple of hours and the four Dinky's below were all I could come up with. Only spent half the money I took though so not all bad.

Other arrivals over the last couple of weeks are also varied.

The following models all came from a Bulk Lot I just picked up. Single owner from new, varied content. Bought from a recent immigrant into NZ.

When I went to pick this lot up they all came in a container that I would suggest is Unique in New Zealand, North East Derbyshire District Council Recycle Bin!

I can post more picture sin another thread of the Matchbox and Corgi's if any one is interested.

Hi Dave.

What a great lot and typical of the selection most of us start out with as children. That recycling bin certainly is a long way from home so may I represent the population of the UK and gift it to you as a sign of our appreciation. It will make a very handy storage container!

Yes please do post the Corgi and Matchbox models elsewhere, thanks.

So I won the below lot from Vectis recently, my main focus was the dark green Mercedes truck which is a promo model. But the more I look at the Ford tip truck it seems to be a Cross Rent a Tipper promotional model.

Image

The only other photo of this promo I could find is from Vectis in 2004 here on Nicks Dinky price listings.

Image

There are a few differences, including colour, but the decal / label placement and content looks similar even though the angle isn't great. It’s unusual that I can only find one image and no other information.

Can anyone assist with information or further images on this model?

Will post more pics when it arrives in a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Dave

There are certain Dinky models which I can't seem to get enough of, one is the Ruston Bucyrus Excavator, which I have a few of in varying conditions and another is the French Dinky Saviem Pipe Truck. I've just picked up the one below where both box and model are in much better condition than the good condition example i had previously.

A couple of other boxed models arrived this week:

Atlas CopCo Compressor Truck

Image

Image

Image

Euclid Dump Truck

Image

Hesketh Formula One Car

Image

Image

Finally a couple of repaints in colours that just look right even if they aren't factory colours.

Foden Mk2 High Sided Wagon

Image

Image

Leyland Octopus Chain Truck

Image

Image

Quite a few others in transit including several more Vectis lots additional to the promo one shown above.. More photo's soon once these arrive.....

Image

Image

Image

I bought the lot below to complete a set

Really good condition Unic Pam Pam SNCF Truck

Image

With a Excellent box

and instructions sheet obtained with a spares lot a couple of months ago. This truck has been my Holy Grail for a couple of years, so its good to tick it off the list, even though I've now ended up with two.

Fingers crossed on the Moko/ Dublo lot below, made an offer based on this single photo. Models sight unseen, working on the theory that if it has a box it must have been looked after. More photos in due course.

Melbourne Antique Toy World at the Camberwell Antique Centre has a great selection of old toys, but the prices were eye watering so none came home with me.

Yes Peter's prices can be eye-watering but they are very high quality items - I've been buying from him for years on my infrequent trips to Melbourne. Was there 10th to 20th November this year but only bought a few items (from Cabinet 5 at the front of the antiques market) - I always check that cabinet very carefully as I've picked up some prize pieces over the years that have been hidden under or behind other items - the "owner" of that cabinet is not very careful in his placement of items and often they are just dumped on top of each other, so a careful check and request for the "guardians" to open the cabinet is always in order. :D

BTW I almost thought that was me in the first picture! - but then I remembered I was wearing a jacket on the day I stopped by the Aniqtues Centre with my youngest daughter...
