Nice Riley.A very satisfing car to restore....I would love a real one of those.
Best if we keep staandard factory finish models on the Dinky Pages and custom, rebuilt, and code 3 etc Dinky, Corgi etc, etc here in Tin's section.

You mean the silver trim? I use a Sharpie for that.

Thanks to all for your kind words!
The Studebaker did indeed turn out exactly like I wanted, but the Riley not so. It'll be repainted once more.
And yes, I'm not above showing you my failed experiments.

I'm not doing slavish restorations, so I would never post them in the actual Dinky section.

Father time has stolen what little steady hand I once had with a brush ... so I too have embraced the silver Sharpie for some trim applications. Regardless of the application device, it's still a very well done job!

The purists are easily upset by some things. Having been ostracized and cast out of other forums is why this separate forum dedicated to the renewal and modification of Vintage models exists. All are welcome to come here to visit and enjoy, but as a reminder of temperance and virtue, we respectfully request that all criticism and judgment be left at the door.  The very canvas for the artists in this forum are the cast offs and broken things that were dumped or discarded by most other collectors.

Now why does that work for me considering these cars never (as far as I know) appeared on the roads in such a 'Way Out Man' colour!!

Ghosty.
