I think there is more chance of knitting fog than there is of there being a functioning "club" like there used to be.

I have been very busy trying to finish up this year's portion of our house roof these last two weeks, so just read this Post in it's entirety tonight. My thoughts........
Joe has truly outdone himself with his early comments, and he has been blessed with finding a very special wife to share his life with.
As for Mica. Life changes with time, just as Clubs and Groups seem to age out of existence as time and founders/ key members pass on. We see this in our own lives and friendships, life moves on and things are never quite the same.....
For me, Nick's Site has been Tops for this 'Modern' era. My favorite AIM and NAMC Matchbox Clubs of the 70s have aged out of existence, but their printed Guides and newsletters can still be the foundation for even our newest discoveries on our Forum. The 'Matchbox USA Club' of Charlie Mack's is now covering mainly Superfast and modern era newly released Matchbox Toys of all kinds, so that publication is thinner than 20 years ago, but still going. Charlie's annual Convention is being planned for 2015 after a two year absence, so I am excited to see and meet some new and old friends once again in Connecticut.
As for saving Mica or even the Mica name, Why? Let's pitch in and help Nick with his British Toy site and Forum. It is the 'New Age' answer to written publications and older 'Club' formats. Let's help Nick get our own Forum discussions in print for posterity as was discussed here earlier. No problems with ownership of an 'old' name, and all proceeds go right to Nick for the upkeep and running of OUR site. Why start over when Nick already has the best well-rounded British Toy website in the World..........kwakers

Hi all
basically Graham is running the site to benefit his charity. He wants to update the database as from what he says there will be little chance of a new white book being published any day soon. There was an update on the pages for the 1st. series models in the last annual issued but this to seems remote to be issued again given that Graham has a fulltime job and it seems the site has been a side issue so far.
It was started with a lot of Hoo-ha about a Convention, auctions and Code 2 models but think it has all been to much to fast. These things take time to set up. As for updating the bible, we have been doing that for a while now and many variants have been found by Moyboyz members, even on models that have been around since the first model and some of these variants are not piddly ones but major casting changes, so it is still out there waiting to be discovered. Funnily a lot have been found by younger, newer collectors who inspect every model carefully and match against the bible issues.
We get run down daily telling us how bad these models are and what a bad investment they turned out to be (gets to be boring at times) but we still like them and to those who whinge that they sell on Ebay for a few quid, well lucky you as you can get them cheaper than I did. Collecting isn't about making money, its for the love of certain items but some don't see it that way nowadays, much the same as I hate stupid Superfast and Hotwheels cars with their unrealistic designs I suppose. Watch these models drop in value when later kids grew up with something else and get dumped in their 1000's. MOY castings were some of the finest made in their day and great value for what they originally cost as cheap toys aimed at older dads of young Regular Wheel collectors when dad or mum took them to the toyshop to use up their pocket money - it was good marketing to sell 2 instead of one model.

The club will soon be adding a 'Forum Directory' to it's sections and hopefully we and Mick Flack's 'Moyboyz' will be included, I keep popping in to see any progress, so will let everyone know with the details when they appear.

Diecast Restoration, Active and based around restoring models but has good topics on board.
the VBD, A Second active link takes you directly to the Dinky Toys threads.

Graham, you may want to remove the Second 'VBD' link, and look into why there is no working link into 'Moyboyz', thank's.

Not sure what you checked Kevin but I just tried them and all are still the same - links stuffed. The Moyboyz link still takes you to the club main page !!! The VBD links still go to the Lounge etc.
