Reg now you have 2 #24's with side trim, you have permission to stop looking for more. That said you are still REQUIRED to find a #69 with a v.rare "long seat".........oh did i mention that i have a mint SF#69 with the "Long seat"!!!

My crap computer saga continues.
I have finally lost my patience with my best laptop, the Sony VAIO hit it so hard down onto a hard worktop, it is now just a crate of shit, it will not load and keeps going round in a circle of showing the...MICROSOFT CORPORATION...load screen, then the VAIO badge, several seconds of black screen and then the options screen that comes up when a forced shut down has taken place and one of the options is to 'Start Windows Normally', but it does not work, so all my important files and folders are now beyond my reach and locked inside a Windows controlled bucket of crap!

My DELL is still locked and needs a Microsoft password bypass disc and the HP (I am using to type this), is just not upto what I use a computer for, the keys are small, the cursor does not move across the screen smoothly (even after user adjustment), and it just is not powerful enough, plus very little storage space.

Since the Hardrive was changed in my VAIO, it has not been the same, constant problems with various Windows based errors, the events log is completely empty (should be a list in there showing me everything that is working), messages telling me the version of Windows I am using is not genuine!! 'Activate your version of Windows now' and when typing replies or comments for the forum, it has decided to randomly put the cursor anywhere on the screen within text I have already typed, causing disjointed sentances etc!

I used to have a Vaio too great until it got a nasty virus that wiped it out by turning off the cooling fan

Ghosty i know how to fix your problems mate.............................buy a new laptop!!!!!!!

I have my No.1 laptop (the VAIO), back from the repair shop, fitted with a new Hard drive of around 1TB capacity, it has had Windows 7 installed replacing the original Windows Vista Premium, but I have none of my information, everything I have been doing since buying it new some Years ago (just before Windows 7 came onto the market), which means 50,000+ files are now not with me...!

I have the old Hard drive from this laptop but now face a very high cost to have the data recovered from it, so until I can work out my best plan of action, I am limited now to what I can offer the forum, so you will have to bare with me while I struggle to supply pictures and information I had easy access to, that are now sitting on a Hard drive I can not use...!

I have now got to re-visit websites (the ones I can remember), and create new short cuts onto the desktop of No.1 laptop and I am typing this to you now using No. laptop, so at least I have a working short cut to this forum already.

So sorry to hear this Ghosty, what a blow! What were you advised regarding the data recovery?

(I would urge everyone who has anything of value stored on a computer, whether it be photos, docs, favourites, databases, spreadsheets and so on) to back it up regularly (to a flash drive, external disk drive, cloud if appropriate, etc, etc.) Also, it's a good idea to test your backups regularly. You need to protect yourself against failures and malicious acitivity as best you can.

Thanks Johnboy, I am gutted, because Years of work has been ripped away from my control and I have been going through all my Flash drives and Memory cards looking for stuff that may still be on them, but I know all the important variations listings for the Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox models were not saved to any of those.

The shop said the Hard drive would have to be sent away for a data recovery session that is very expensive, so I have been on the web looking at the procedures for trying to recover the data myself (any forum members done this yet!), once I have determined what the fault is, it should be a mechanical fault that most of the time can be tackled just to get it working long enough to rescue the data to another platform (another laptop or stand alone Hard drive), so it looks as if I have got my work cut-out for the next couple of Months...!
