Now we can see in the left a truly Matchbox, and in the right a "Galgo" made in Argentina copied of "Ford group vi".
In the pevious posts I was comparing Aguti against Matchbox. Now we can easily note that the quality of "Galgo" copy is lower than Aguti copies. (From Diego Escobar´s Collection")

...and because it is not an exact copy, Lesney Products would not bring any court action against 'Galgo' for any infringement problems.

That looks more like a case of two manufacturers making models of the same car to me.

There were at least six models of Galgo that seem to be a cheap manufacture of Matchbox. The Ford Group VI that I had showed, the AMX javelin, The Ford GT40, The Lamborghini Countach (called as "monza pininfarina" by Galgo), the Mod Rod and perhaps more. As you said they are not an exact copy. Some of this were in fact very bad. Nevertheless Galgo in the ´70s had launched nice cars too, specially a line of Formula One cars. I will show pics. For begin, Hot road Draguar Matchbox vs "super draguar" of Galgo, from Diego Perez Lozano collection. This "Galgo" seems quite good.

Now we know there are other models existing in both ranges it is clear they were copying the Matchbox models which is not a big problem as most toy, model and hobby companies have done this.

The Countach thingy is double funny. It was designed by Bertone, not Pininfarina.

It is more notorious that this is a copy in fantasy cars as "Draguar" than in true cars as Ford Group VI. About "Monza Pininfarina here are the pics, including a pic of the box. All the cars are of Diego Escobar´collection excepting the photo beside the Matchbox that is of Diego Perez Lozano.

Aaaahhhh... Payá International... nect to the Hong Kong copies in my collection my favorite spin-off collection.
It's very exciting to see how many variations Payá made regarding colour, decals, windows etc.

It is curious that in one of the blister we can read "International Payá" and in the other "Internacional Payá". Like the brand has a english way and a spanish way.
