Thanks Ewan, I've got a loads of beaters to play with so I'll have a few experiments. It would be nice to get a few results especially with windows and tyre treads.

Yes brake fluid will take the trim and any decals off in no time, An examination of the condition of the baseplate will tell you if a model is worth trying to recover or not.

Back away from the cleaning of the models.
And back out into the healthy nature.

That (almost) brings back a very nearly unhappy memory, or it would if I were a little older at the time. This is a true story.
When I was a babe in arms my Mum had taken me on a trolleybus to see my grandparents who lived in chingford, The trolleybus had to go up chingford mount and to anyone that knows chingford mount, it is a long steep hill. On the way up the hill the trolleybus broke down and rolled backwards down the hill, The driver was unable to stop the trolleybus so he reversed it into the cemetary gates which are halfway down the hill where it finally came to a stop. so what could have been a very nasty accident was avoided. tale over.

Trolleybuses generally work well on hills - it was one of the reasons why they replaced trams with them here in Wellington in 1963. They are still running today with newer buses, including on some of the hillier routes around the city. Sadly, the complete idiots in our local council have been convinced by a penny-pinching bus operator that they should be phased out and replaced by yet more lousy diesels - all this with a mayor who proclaims herself a green...I could go on...it will be very sad for many people to see these go after all these years - Wellington's trolleybus system is the most Southerly in the World now, and one of only a handful still operating in English speaking countries.

Hi Mike.
You are correct, code 6 and 8 are the same, I think that code 6 should be flat head axles but I'm not sure, Maybe Antonin can help because he wrote the variation list for this model.
