Following to Shockwavediecast, here is my plastic "Blue-Box" version of the K16 Dodge Truck & Twin Tippers.
It has a friction-motor and is made in Singapore (!) instead of Hong Kong.
On the side it says "SCHWER TRANSPORT", German for "Heavy Transport", which is clearly demonstrated in the last pic.
I wonder if it once had tailgates, for on Shockwavediecast's pics of his version they're missing too?
Look at the size in comparison with the K16!

G'day,
Is this a Matchbox copy.
If not ,any idea of Maker.
It feels like tin not diecast and 50mm long with plastic wheels. No markings at all.
Cheers

It is a Matchbox copy by one of the Japanese copiers... AHI is the most well known company but there are others. It is probably an antimony/lead/tin based metal which is why it feels lighter.
It looks a lot like one by this
Japanese company who use packaging similar to the AHI packaging. A history of AHI can be found at
http://toysnz.com/AHI-Japan. I'm pretty certain this is NOT by AHI as it is a much cruder casting than the AHI castings I have. Of course I'm always open to being corrected by someone who can add more information on these wonderful (and not so wonderful) copies.

Ian is probably right about the little Ambulance not being a product by AHI but may have been marketed by AHI at some point because of the packaging which seems very AHI inspired (OK, its in green!!). It comes from Japan as evidenced by it's box and is a variation of the model shown in the set in Ian's ebay link.

G'day Ian,
Great to hear from you and your input into this Copy.
If the picture Ghosty has posted is the AHI (wheels inside) model I would say you are correct and not AHI as mine has wheels outside.
Interesting about the Lead/tin metal, it is the only one I have.
Cheers Al.

G'day Ghosty,
The one you have pictured has wheels inside and mine has wheels outside.
Is either an AHI.
Cheers Al.
