Sweet Mother of God, You've done it man!
Below is a very large full size file that I've uploaded directly to the site and it correctly sized the file. We need a sticky post in the Lounge (with the announcement).

Didn't work for me.
I tried to add photos that I had (as usual) reduced to 800 x 250 but all I got was this error message ....
"The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 600 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.
The submitted image is 800 pixels wide and 250 pixels high".

Thanks for the feedback. It's clear that the system doesn't like the fact that 800 > 600, but quite why it hasn't automatically resized to 600 wide x 187.5 high is currently beyond me.
I'll do some more digging.

I tried to upload a 1.4MB photo that would normally be comfortably wider than the webpage but received the same error message (ok it was a big photo!)
"The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 600 pixels wide and 600 pixels high. The submitted image is 2902 pixels wide and 1691 pixels high."
I reduced it to 600 pixels wide but the quality is reduced. (down to 109KB) but here it is below

- IMG_6729 low qual .jpeg (106.76 KiB) Viewed 2880 times
I don't mind resizing photos, but it would be good for members to see the detail in the originals. Thanks for all your efforts in this.
Cheers
John

Hmmmm....as a trial I've just uploaded a 434 kB photo measuring 2016 x 1512 (pixels, I presume) to this thread (post now deleted), and it resized to a roughly 600 x 600 image, with the original version accessible by double-clicking.
Is it something to do with user permissions, or is it to do with the file?
John - you have a PM.

Are we trying to reduce the image size or the file size?

I think the original intention was to reduce the image size so that it displayed properly within a post. What I seem to have done (for some files at least) is have the Forum create an oversized thumbnail of the image which, when clicked on, expands to the full-sized image, i.e the best of both worlds.

I've changed a setting. Could those Members receiving error messages when attempting to post images please attempt a repost of those same images and then report back?
