Idris

Not the grey base on the 3b - I think that would be very wishful thinking though I have never actually looked for that one.

Although other forum members do have the one in the photo that is hard to find, I think that the model is not that widespread within the forum

Happy guessing/collecting :) :)

I was sure Hugh was right! Is the 28d Mack the first issue without the axle brace?

Dr. Jeep/Ghosthunter

Correct again Dr. Jeep! - should your title not be Doctor of Diecasts rather than of Jeeps?

The condition of the Mack is not great but it will do until a better one comes along (if ever)

If either of you have a better one for trade or sale please let me know!

Time to start looking for the short baseplate red Dodge Tipper model

Photo of Mack base enclosed :) :)

As usual Happy collecting :D :D

Good find. I don’t have one of these, though I’d like one. Are there any other casting differences?

I don’t think the different bases on the Dodge are nearly so hard to find.

Dr. Jeep

As far I can see the only difference is the rear brace - instead of the central brace each side has a short vertical brace on the inside of the axle housing that extends up from the chassis base about 4mm. If I find any differences in the future I will let you know.

I have been quite lucky recently with the early castings - as well as this I got the early Snow Trac with decals and no axle braces - again the condition was not great but it was the only one I could fine - as Ghosthunter says it is better to have the model than not! :) :)

I got this job lot to obtain a couple of models missing from my collection - the Ford Cortina and the Iso Grifo and also because the cost per model was very reasonable. :) :) I was pleasantly surprised that it includes a few model variations that may be slightly harder to find - anyone want to hazard a guess what they are?

Happy Collecting :D
