HereĀ“s a contribution: A very nice Cresta in excellent condition. So what's wrong? Well, according to Lesley, it is not a Cresta at all!
The dumper is perhaps a bit hotter with pimped rear wheels.

That 22b/43a hybrid (should we call it a 32.5ab? :D ) is absolutely astounding. I am amazed by the fact that not only the rivet posts but also the wheel arches line up (more or less). Also, given the fact that it is unlikely to be a one-off, it is surprising that this hybrid hasn't been spotted before.

My favorite error.
I found this new in the store in 1982.
The baseplate is reflected in a mirror under the model.

:D :D

...and should we call it a Hillster or a Crestaminx.

It reminds me of this one offered by a USA ebay dealer who advertised a 27c with 39b base about three years ago. This would be a 33bc and be known as a Pontillac.

Thank you Bonzothe cat for adding the two above and jogging my memory.

The wheel arches line up really well but the rivet posts don't - the base of the Hillman is a couple of millimetres longer. I think this would only work if the Hillman base was curved to fit onto the Vauxhall body. I wonder if this was done deliberately for fun by someone in the factory, and that's why we haven't seen others. But what a great find!

Here are the two Oopses which I have in my collection so far:

Image

No. 17d Hoveringham Tipper in "Overingham" livery (but only one sided, the other side is correct).....

Image

Image

No. 70a Thames Estate Car with use of a wrong adjusted spraying mask.
Thanks to the toy show seller, who pointed out the model is not perfect - so he was happy to sell it for a fiver....

Is that a spare hood (bonnet) with tampo inside the car?
Quality control was really off duty that day!
Great find! Thanks for sharing.

It is one of the earlier production models with paper labels. Tampo printing wasn't phased in until later.
