How do you know? As in any collecting field, there are many secret collections hidden away that nobody but the owner thereof knows about. A huge percentage of collectors are a lot more reticent about their hoards than some of the members here.

I had it confirmed by a Sony UK representative when I was working in Hi-Fi retail and have since then taken it to an audio forum as a unique collection.

The Playstation section alone comprises of 39 displayable items and while I know of larger playstation collections when mine is added to the overal Sony collection made up of 53 Stereo Hi-Fi items such as amps, tuners, turntables, tape decks etc,10 Sony VAIO computers, 10 Beta and VHS video recorders, 8 DVD recorders, 8 TV's, Walkman machines, portable radios, headphones, microphones, blank audio and video tapes and countles accessories before I even include shop displays, POS items, catalogues etc, etc, it makes it a very large collection.

And to think I threw my daughters old Vaio in the bin, literally. I often wonder if one of the bin lorry crew retrieved it. As far as I know it had been formatted/wiped, but I'm sure some techy smart arse could find something on it.

A good possibility. There is only one way that I'm aware of to ensure that data on a hard-drive is not recoverable.
