3 line #28 jag
Re: 3 line #28 jag
I don't take up second bidder offers as I assume ( maybe incorrectly ) that the item has been bid up by the seller especially if the winning bid has had several small increases in an attempt to out bid , I know that I would be getting it for my maximum bid but feel as if I have been cheated into paying more than the true auction value would have been , I would sooner take my chances on it being relisted

Same as Reg, what are the odds of a realist ?
Re: 3 line #28 jag
I have had many Sellers not ever bother with sending an offer to me as second bidder, even on a Matchbox Display from a Pennsylvania Dealer. The Seller actually relisted it at a Buy it Now UNDER my bid after his Buyer went bad. He never even bothered contacting me at all to tell me he still had it. If I told you I have known the Seller for almost 40 years, you will then know how crazy the E Bay Seller mentality can be sometimes. I was able to buy it two days after he put the lower Buy it Now on it, only when I stumbled on it by accident as a 'similar item' warning given me by E Bay. Some of E Bay's ideas like that one actually help us once in a while.
I usually jump at a second chance offer, the item is being offered at a price I am still prepared to pay. I could care less about why the top Bidder didn't finish his deal, I bid for what I have a need for. If the Seller has played me for a few quid, I celebrate his intelligence in doing so over a COLD Canadian Dark Beer. (Not just at Cellar Temperature..LOL)
All you Yanks have a Great Labor Day Weekend, and all others try and relax a bit, life is short! I am back on the 3rd story roof for another side of our house that may even stretch into next year now.....kwakers
