I had the same Positive thoughts on Gary also Joe, and I still recognize his better qualities. He is sometimes a very emotional and overeactive person, but we are all a bit different in our personalities, talents, and our styles of collecting. The bad points are that Chris and Idris both treated Gary fairly, Gary somehow had a change of mind/ brain mis-process, or whatever it may be called, and two collectors are now left very unhappy. We can help Idris find an early Refuse Truck, perhaps Chris will let us help with replacing his outright losses. It has been a very sad situation to say the least between these well known and highly respected Forum members. That statement DOES include Gary, whatever his present mindset may be. Dick

Sorry Guys, it was Hugh with the Refuse Truck problem, NOT Idris. I am in a hurry to climb up on my third floor roof again, but just had to add my comment to Joe's similar expression of sadness over this outcome. kwakers........( perhaps losing 'faculties' a bit on this fine Spring day........LOL)

Please understand that I'm not defending Gary's actions on these failed deals and trades. Everything I've been told (from both sides) clearly places the ball in Gary's court. His failure to make a compromise in both these situations is enough to justify a person not wanting to trade with him or buy from him. Thus, the warning of failed deals seems very appropriate and puts a black mark on his name. His failure to communicate with those involved and to resolve the issues is a statement in itself.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

I may be late to chime in here but I would not believe one word coming from Gary, or "Gary's Ex-wife". I have been told so many varied stories that this one sounds pale by comparison. Please don't think me heartless, but Gary is a lier, con-artist, thief and probably a faker as well.
As for replacing my stolen items, it's fine. Lesson learned. I will however use every oppertunity to bash Gary for being the crook he is.

I have not heard back from Ms. Fielding with garry's e-mail address, so I have asked her to forward the following message to him:

"Garry,

I see that you have chosen not to respond to my previous e-mail. I also note that the listing has ended as “best offer accepted”. I can therefore only conclude that, when given the choice, you decided that mere money mattered more to you than our friendship and, more importantly, your conscience, your reputation, and your personal integrity. That is very, very sad.

Hugh
"

I do not expect a reply.

Hello all, I have spoken to Garry on the phone about this problem, he did send it to you Hugh but for some reason it got returned to him.

He did refund the money to you in all honesty, so before he could send it on to you his lady love took all of the models to sell on ebay for her self.

Due to personal reasons he had no control over the models that were no longer in his hands, so many of you have badly judged another person (Garry) with-out knowing all the circumstances, which I shall not post here as they are very personal for Garry so maybe he has not defended these allegations posted here for personal reasons. I beleave that his ex lady love is looking into the legal side about what has been posted on this forum.

I have known Garry for some time now, and know a few collectors who have had great deals with him on models with no trouble at all.

I am sorry this as happened to you Hugh, but we who have this model will keep our eyes open for you, I saw one on ebay last week but missed out as I got the times wrong we cannot all be perfect, it sold in the Uk ebay for less than 23 pounds and it was Mint :o :o
.
Please all you posters on this subject take note of this post and do not judge other collectors until you know all the facts.

George, whilst your loyalty to your friend Garry does you credit, I have to say that I do not believe one single word of what he has told you for the simple reason that, following the return of the parcel, Garry did not make contact with me in order to explain the situation. It is only now, when his actions have become public knowledge and he and his (ex-)partner are getting serious flak, that he has chosen to make a statement and, even then, it was made to you rather than to me.

Gary did indeed make superb customs. Too many predictable things went wrong on deals where he sold vhtf models which were not duplicates but sold with regret to raise funds, no surprises none of them failed to arrive after Karl´s #46 Beales didnt show up - consistent behaviour patterns repeated over and over yet it took a very longtime for anyone here to come out publicly about these failures and as a result more people suffered losses - some of us were 95% confident the day this was offered that this open toe #7 would never be delivered but surprisingly not blamed on postal workers this time......
