Great story Ian on the Metro, you are coming across as a very 'Old School' type of Guy regards your motoring Days...

Your right there....Unfortunitly I cant do all I would like on these modern cars,in my days I have fixed every piece of what a proper car should be made of..In fact I cant think of any bit that I have not replaced over the years due to breakdowns or 60/70s workmanship...You where a breakdown man where you not?..You must have some good stories of auto mishaps...IE Minor trunions and Hillman habits of falling in half.

Yes Ian, I was a breakdown man and only had to work on a handful of popular and classic cars, they were actually more reliable than the modern cars of the 19890's onwards!

Hi!
I managed to find all the parts I needed for installing my soft top (hard top for wintermonths). That was not easy, because the Suzuki Grand (!) Vitara is not as common as the Suzuki Vitara.
Official spares were overpriced, so I had to find second hand parts. The last two missing parts came from the netherlands, because it was nearly impossible to find them in Germany.
All in all I'am a happy Linus and it's summertime
