I also found a couple of nice old Dinkies, so a good day. Wimborne isn't a huge event, but there were plenty of interesting items on offer and lots of people to chat to so I managed to spend about 3 hours there in total.
Hi Jason, great to see you at Wimborne. Glad the Maestro works
There was a lot more dealers of old stuff there than some of the other fairs I've done recently.
Picked up a trio of redlines, a #67 VW, Corgi Rockets Merc SL and a Siku Ambulance and only spent £10!!! However I missed out on a Corgi Rockets Ford Escort WITH the mechanics by about 5 seconds. It was mint, and sold for £3!!!

All of a sudden, it's the NEC Birmingham toy fair again, this coming Sunday 27th December. I trust there will be some 'VBD' forum members in attendance. I certainly would love to be there but simply cannot commit until virtually the morning itself, so if I do get there I hope to bump into you Guys again (''Idris'', "Petethesweet", "Fixer", "Misterpop" and maybe this time meet up with "Leonty24"), and my stallholder friends, Steve and Stephenk.
GHOSTHUNTER.

I went to the NEC yesterday. It was not a great day at all. I left home at 9.30am to discover that a bus had caught fire on the dual carriageway nearby. I queued through the middle of town for over half an hour to get to the north of town and finally hit the motorway (instead of the 5 minute drive I normally do). I then discovered that the clever idiots who plan these things have put in a 50 mile an hour speed limit with time over distance cameras all the way from where I joined the motorway until the M6 due to replacing the central reservation. Why they can't do it a bit at a time is beyond me. So that added even more time on to my journey. I finally got to the NEC at 11.30am. Only an hour late. And well, there was very little there for the Matchbox enthusiast. I did get a couple of little things so it was not a complete waste of time, but there was nothing of real interest.
But as this was my only chance to go to a toy fair for a long time, I cannot complain too much. I think I may be able to make something in mid-late February, although that is not confirmed.
