That's a superb lot, I bet you're looking forward to their arrival! They generally look to be in excellent condition.

The Leyland Tipper and Bedford Coca Cola are very nice. The Plymouth Furies look like the 115 version which came with passengers but no hood.

Good to have those figures too.

Hi Dave,
Blimey that's what I call a win. Some great stuff there mate. Somewhere there's a photo of me on Xmas day 1967, I think, with my new Dinky Leyland tipper just like that one. I think it died in the sandpit wars about 1972. :D

The seller of the above lot is located 4 hours north of me here in Auckland. They are supposedly driving down today on other business and will drop these off. Bonus zero shipping costs and much less likelihood of damage in transit. Pictures to come shortly.

In the meantime other arrivals this week are:

Came across the lot below bought it predominantly for the Dinky Citroen Cammionette, which was described in the listing as a Blue Truck. No mention of Dinky whatsoever. So I picked up the whole lot for less than half what the Citroen usually goes for. Absolutely stunning as new condition, had to get the seller top provide a pic of the base to make sure it wasn't an Atlas copy.

The Corgi Chipperfields items are in excellent complete condition and make great additions to my collection in there own right. Detailed shots in the Corgi section of this site.

French Dinky GMC Tanker. Missing windscreen. I have a repro item but it looks like fitting it requires removing the axles and chassis to release the original items tabs. I'll ponder doing this or leaving as is.

I now have the set in Military green:

Atlas Dinky Ford Galaxie - Came sealed but with an annoying paint flaw on the boot lid.

Along with my lightly playworn original example.

If you had not shown the base of the 'H' Van, I would have been suspicious of it's condition. How has it stayed so good! Love the Chipperfields as well, these go for very high prices.

Ghosty, The exact same suspicion I had. Hence why I asked the seller to upload the base pic to the listing, instead he sent solely to me via Q&A email. Couldn't believe my luck. Waited a couple of days and made a relatively low ball offer that was accepted. Thankfully Seller was another generalist antique dealer with no other diecast listings. All the models in this lot look like they've been in a time warp for 40+ years, amazingly good condition.

Picked up the other large lot above this afternoon....very happy!!!...pics in the morning.

Guys the lot above is generally much better than anticipated. The seller was executor of his Grandfathers estate and this lot has been in the same house since new. The boxes supposedly were with them in the house up to a year ago, but can't be found.

I couldn't resist taking a couple of pics of the packing given the variable quality of some sellers efforts.

That much effort to sit on the back seat of their car for the four hour journey down to Auckland. Well impressed.

The Models had 50 years of grime and some have sun fade so a couple of hours cleaning up the grime with isopropyl alcohol and sun fade with cutting compound was required. Comparatives of each condition half way through below:

That's it for this marathon post of an amazing collection of cars, except to share with those who have made it this far that the average cost per car (not including the figures) for this lot was 16 quid each. The auction closed without meeting reserve and a Fixed Price offer was made which I accepted based on the distant photo's shown above. A punt, but an educated one which has definitely paid off. I spent the last hour before posting these pictures placing these in my display cabinets, their second home since new.

Cheers

Dave

Dave, you did very well with those for around £16 each. Some really great condition models there.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom V body colour is normal and the feature of the Blue showing through is common on these early examples. With the 'INJ 483C'' index plate, the detail painting, Orange rear lights and 'Pinned' base holes, this is a very early issue and may not have a floor in the boot, can you please confirm if the boot is floored or not (meaning the floor is just a flat extension of the plastic seats moulding). It is a shame the mascot and front wing mirrors have gone, but modern replacement mirrors can be put on if you want to.

The Silver Cloud III is a stunner, super condition and very hard to find with the ''MTB 21C'' index plates. When this actual example was new, it was very likely put into the rare 'View-Through' card box, like this...

These delicate boxes are often seen as being used for export to the US markets, but they were used in the UK for a short while.

If you could just check the boot floor in the Phantom V Dave, thank's.

Hi Dave,
Stunning mate. Just stunning. They survived so well, even all the often damaged plastic bits are all present and correct. You did well there mate. The Cibie H van is a real find too. The Dinky beats Bullnose is really hard to get with the figures. Result mate!

Wow, some very fine additions to your fleet!

Your Vauxhall 101 looks faded on one side, which I think is a common problem with this colour. I had the same issue on my example however some careful use of T-Cut / Colour restorer bought the colour back to the unusual original yellow / lime green very quickly.

I have also got both examples of the early Aston DB5s with sticker back lights and cream and black interiors. I always thought the cream interior pre-dated the black one? On my example the cream interior version has a "C" registration and the black one has a "D" reg, yet on yours both are "B" reg which if correct implies both colour interiors were available from the outset?

The Austin 1800 looks mint, as do many of the others, a great find all round!
