Hi Jason
please, could you (and others too), with your falcon eyes, check your collections to find the "shaped" wheels. For me it seems to be the rarest wheels I have seen up to date (or I was blind up to date  .)

I agree completely with your timeline on the types of Lesney domed wheels and their usage Antonin. This has always been my belief as to the order they were used on the 6C, and then their appearance on the early 11 Cranes as being less detailed when they were introduced. To find all the white sleeved Dumpers with the detailed wheels is no accident, I believe the tread matches the duel rears, and they were made first as you have indicated.
I am back driving my Lorry Again, so it will take me a couple of days to sort out my Cranes and Dumpers to determine if I may have any of that odd inner shaped domed wheel you have discovered. I expect it only on a Dumper, because I believe my only domed tire Crane has that flat inner face. It will be interesting to see what other Forum collections are now hiding as these details are checked. kwakers

I have checked my 6c and M9 and I did not find any model with the wheels without nuts, with smooth outer and shaped inner face . Has been someone successful and has spotted these wheels in his collection? Please, be careful and do not confuse it with "concave" wheels.

Not to throw a wrench in the works, but the wheel has also been found on the 63b Foamite Crash Tender. I wonder if it can also be found with both types of this early wheel?

I have only seen one crash tender with that type of wheel, it was owned by forum member Yellow Foden.

Is that the one which was mentioned on MCCH many years ago? Then there's the one auctioned at Vectis, perhaps making three in total.

I suspect the same "easily gets overlooked" comment applies to the 63b and that more are lurking out there. The model is super common and most people don't bother to look at something they already have and don't need.

You are right Joe, the variation is easily to overlook, only when you know what you are looking for, so you can find it. I must check my spare 63b models.

Hi Hugh.
The one that vectis sold was owned by yellow foden, I don't know about the one that was on the mcch. so 1 or possibly 2 are known to exist, I have been looking for this variation for years and no luck so far.
