I think there is a picture of one of these with the wheel still behind the cab and some discussion about was it intentional?

I'd always understood it was an error caused when the wheels and castings were tumbled together. It does look good with a wheel in that position, but if it was intentional I don't think the spare wheel would have painted.

If the painted trim is standard for that particular model and appears on the majority of examples seen at retail, the example missing this trim would be a factory error.

Couldn't resist this, even though it has a terrible repaint. Looks like someone picked out the wrong wheel from the bin (#5 bus/#9 Dennis).
