I was in Paisley less than a mile from the airport when the terrorists attacked it, They were living not far from my sis in law in Houston.
My Dad had the luckiest near miss when he walked into a pedestrian tunnel just as the IRA bomb exploded at St Pancras station, If the bomb had gone off even 10 seconds earlier he would have caught the full force of it just like the man walking behind him did.

Re: NEWSFLASH!
I am ok guys, however i had very close work related connections to the people who were on that Helicopter, so i am very sad tonight and it is a painful reminder of what really matters in life. Eight dead now including the occupants of the helicopter according to Sky news. I cannot begin to express how sorry i feel for all those involved in this sad event.

Re: NEWSFLASH!
Its been a bit hectic hear at the "VBD Times" of late, what with one thing and another, but we have to put all our thoughts to Scotland again. It is unfortunately suffering the wrath of Mother Nature, with high winds and rain etc, and it looks like it is set to remain this way for another day or two. Many residents are reporting the loss of trees and garden sheds, and lots of cracking, splitting and banging noises are evident wherever you go, so please be safe if you have to venture out and hopefully only if its an emergency.
On a lighter note, we are receiving images from our colleges at the B.P.T.S.A. (British Part Time Space Agency) that a new set of Islands have been discovered in the North Sea and they are so large, they can be seen from the entire Eastern Coastline!
We have managed to get our resident artist, (oh! that'll be me then!) to try and interpret what can be seen in the one satellite picture we have of the new Islands.
For clarity, we have translated the 'Space Gobbledy Gook' script on the image to what we think it says...
...and now, the Weather.

Re: NEWSFLASH!
We just got informed that we are in a flood danger area due to the north sea storm surge, quite a few people have been evacuated from nearer the seafront, but don't panic, my collection is safe and dry upstairs.

Ghosty - I notice that the island upon which I live has disappeared. I'm hoping that this is due to a new and improved Reverse Gulf Stream which is carrying us South (backed up by last night's 90mph winds) and we are now heading a little closer to the equatorGHOSTHUNTER wrote:Its been a bit hectic hear at the "VBD Times" of late, what with one thing and another, but we have to put all our thoughts to Scotland again.
