I have two pics of the blue Mini plus a red and a gold, Compare the pics, One of the blue ones still looks like it is narrower.

Never seen one in the hand but i would tend to agree with you Nick that it does look a narrower casting.

Here is a comparison picture with borrowed pictures form Nick's guide. While the models are not posed in exactly the same position, it is enough to see that the area between the steering wheel and 'A' post on the passenger's side is different, that in the Blue model is shorter, so I firmly believe the Blue model does have the Narrow body.

Here is the 'Press release' picture for the Mini and it does show those elusive door hinges and door handle, but it is difficult to see if the body is Narrow or Wide.

Since wide-bodied examples are known to exist with door details, I think it extremely unlikely that the narrow-bodied version (if it ever existed at all) would have had plain sides. The blue model is obviously in an advanced stage of development (windows and interior present), so it would be reasonable to assume that the bodyshell would already be fully detailed, especially where major items (such as door outlines) are concerned. I therefore suggest that the blue model is also a wide version and that any indications to the contrary are simply optical illusions.

Interesting to see that the original proposal was for small door labels fitting within the door outline.

A base shot and a comparison picture with a standard issue minis baseplate would be appreciated Numi, thanks.
