The bulldozer is the most minty of the bunch. I've never seen a significantly playworn example. I have the impression the A series dozers either were played with, quickly broke and then thrown away or were hardly played and stayed in great shape.

The Crestas are always always a thrill to find since there are so many variations of this classic design.

The GPW Bedford tipper got my heart rate up and made the big lot a 'must have'.

Some great models, I love the Cresta and as you say many variations. Its a good reason to keep many of them in the collection.

Ghosty, I'm sorry I missed your comment before I responded.

I rather like the Camera car too. The mount for the camera man is cracked, so I'm glad he didn't fall out! I did not know the Husky line at all from my youth and we don't see them here often in the US today but I do like them. The castings have a lot of detail and the choices (like the Studebaker camera car, the VW T1 tower truck and the VW T1 luggage elevator) are interesting. It's unfortunate the plastic bases and wheel mounts were so cheaply built.

It's seems Corgi needed to hit a very low price point but was unwilling to compromise on the Accuracy and visual appeal of the casting.

No problem Kurt. I agree with your comments about he Husky models and your last sentance with the low price point is very true, they were aiming for a big slice of the toy car market but with cheap marketing and distribution through Woolworth's stores and the use of rack mounting to display them, hence the blister cards.

Giving model cars plastic baseplates is about the best way to keep costs down during the development of the models because it is rarely seen so was deemed less important and Children were hardly going to question the design.

I never had a lot of Husky models, just enough to enjoy them along with some Matchbox models and to me they compaired very well.

I saw your post of cleaning the #15a too and it turned out very well. For me it is always fun cleaning new arrived models, it always makes a noticeable difference, even if they looked clean before
