You are right! The tires on mine are plastic with treads and not the smooth rubber ones later used in the Transpalite process. Sorry for the confusion. You say the tyres are rubber, but in fact in your picture they look like the standard Black 'Smooth' treaded tyres fitted to the normal production models which were used on the first 'Transpalite' models, but caused reaction problems with the 'Luctite' material, so rubber 'O' rings were sourced and fitted to later 'Transpalite' models.
