Thank you Stephan for posting in this thread that has become rather quiet of late. I thought this would turn into a vibrant thread with lots of discussion but clearly the collectors have not taken 3D printing on board just yet, so it is good that we have you to continue to show us what can be done and I appreciate your continued interest.

Regards the model you show, it looks very factory and it has allowed you to make a model the factory did not so this is an advantage for collector/modellers.

That's a fine looking model, showing very clearly what a shame it was that the factory did not continue with the interchangeable tractor units and trailers (e.g. 10a/27a, 10b/27b). Presumably the move to larger-scale models made issuing tractor/trailer combinations difficult as a single model (e.g. 1e/2d) and the repositioning (and subsequent demise) of the Major Pack series meant that avenue was also closed off.

I had the same ideas 10 years ago, but i still need to restore the models...
I used the front axle from #2 as the saddle pan and mud guards
In the background there also is a scrap utilization

Nice combo Roland and the saying...'Great minds think alike' comes to mind, but I imagine with similar models sitting around on workbenches, it is very likely the same ideas will crop up in collector/modeller's minds...

here we have three 44c GMC Refrigerator trucks.
In the middle the original (back)door, left the spare part (too small) and the one the right is made by 3D printing.
Ghosty this part is painted with resin paint. (hope the translation is all right)
