The modelcar exhbition was a great succes with 14.000 visitors.
Dutch 3 inch Club member Remco Reijsen has a more proffesional way of taking pictures and visited the exhbition in the weekend of aug 1st.
Remco took many photos of my cabinet including the backside of the cabinet which showed all the boxes belonging to the models on the cabinet.

His photos can be found here:

I met Gary Galvin from the UK outside the museum, friday aug 7th. Gary traveled from the UK on thursday and went from his The Hague hotel by taxi to the museum were we met at 10.00 in the morning.

Later that day we met 2 friends of Gary, Andrew and Tony.
The NAMAC staff told me that on some days there were between 700 and 1.000 visitors !

Tony on the right, Andrew left of him. I am on the left and Gary is right of me.

Image

We spent the whole day at the museum.

I went by train to Amersfoort with Gary to view the rest of my collection here.
We then met up again with Andrew and Tony again and had a walk through the old city centre and a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant.
3 of us had Lasagna and Tiramishu as a desert !

Image

After the dinner Andrew and Tony also wanted to see my collection so we did. I live very nearby the restaurants.

A nice long evening before they went to their hotel in Houten for the swapmeet there the next day.
I didn't atend Houten myself as I went on holliday for a week WITHOUT Matchbox, a computer, a phone or even a watch..

I have been to this exposition twice, in fact the Louwman museum is a place which I visit two or three times a year anyway, because it is such a tremendous venue, a nice drive, a good cuppa and tasty apple pie.

Marcel, your cabinet was one of the best, I enjoyed it very much. It is a rare chance to see such beautiful Lesney/Matchbox models, displayed in the way you do.

It is amazing to think the English are the pioneers when it comes to car museums and top quality models, but we don't know how to celebrate these achievements the way other countries do...

Ghosty.

This museum started in 1934 by the father of the current owner. They are the importer for Toyota cars in The Netherlands for many years.
The father of the current owner started to import Dodge cars.
The 1st car for the museum was a then 20 year old Dodge (from 1914) and is still part of the collection.

16 390 visitors !!!
Update: the final number of visitors to the Museum during the NAMAC Louwman Jubilee Exhibition proves to be 16 390 !!! This means that the museum - and the NAMAC Jubilee Exhibition - from July 1 t / m August 9th, 2015 has attracted almost half more visitors compared to the same period last year - when there was no miniature car exhibit. The NAMAC, exhibitors and the Jubilee Committee can be proud. I understand that the Louwman Museum is very pleased.

All my Matchbox models and displays are back home again.
I was on holliday when the exhbition finished august 9rd but a good collectorfriend got all my displays and models from the Louwman museum in The Hague.
I met him last thursday and we brought the items to my home.
Most of them are now back into my own cabinets.

As a gesture all participants got a Lion Toys DAF 33 estate model (from 1967-1974) with the NAMAC 50th anniversary logo.
The real car was on display in the museum in dark grey color and was used for public relations.

All members of the NAMAC could order this model in a dark grey color.
The participants got one for free in off-white.
If I remember right only 130 were made in this color.

The nice perspex case is printed with:
Deelnemer tentoonstelling NAMAC 50 jaar
1 juli tot 9 augustus 2015

which means:
Participant exhibition NAMAC 50 years
July 1 to August 9, 2015

Very happy with this one:

If the buyer is a member here I would like to get in touch !
Although the bay offer was not complete this is a very rare display !
