Hello Ergomatic,
On October 20th, I should be attending a model club night, among the members will be Robert Newson who I know quite well and have made a note about asking him if he has contact with Phillip Bowdidge, in relation to his "Matchbox" notes. I will now add to my note for you, about Nigel Cooper, I understand Nigel used to post here but maybe when we were on the old 'Lefora' site.
Ghosty.

Nigel retired either late last year or earlier this year. I know he has been making the most of his free time and traveling the world, he may well come back to us in the future.

I forgot to ask Charlie Mack about Phillip when I saw him at the Hershey Matchbox Show in September. I believe Phillip still writes regular wheel model notes for Charlie's Matchbox USA Publication, so they still seem to be in touch. Nigel was/is a Factory Rep. working with Mattel Toys and sending out some reports about those Toys via E Mail contacts. Nigel did not come over for any U.S. Toy Shows that I attended this year, but either of these veteran collectors as well as perhaps Robert Newson may be able to answer our questions on this odd Dumper label. Thank you in advance for your efforts on this inquiry Ghosty, it will be quite interesting to find out some facts before more time passes and these opportunities begin to disappear. kwakers

Thank you, Ghosty, Nick, kwakers!
Abot three years ago I bought a Matchbox car on E-bay from coopertoys. I found the old order confirmation, the seller was Nigel Cooper. What do you think, he is the same Nigel Cooper?
Have a nice day! Peter

That is in fact Nigel Ergomatic, and he is one hell of an authority with lots of factory regular wheel and Superfast oddities in his collection like no one else! Nigel is a regular visitor to the U.S. He and Phillip used to travel together many years ago, but Phillip seemed to have 'retired' a bit from our hobby because no one in England seems to know of him over the last 6 years I have asked about him. Phillip bought one of the only known factory green 20As after Nigel passed it up as a re-paint at a Show one day. Stannard used it in a colored picture in his 1985 Guide, and Nigel regrets not looking at it as closely as Phillip did that day. I will look forward to seeing them one day whenever they should return to our side of the pond for a visit. They are both English 'National Treasures' in our Lesney Hobby with a wealth of knowledge they have gained over many years of collecting. kwakers

I believe I saw Nigel Cooper's name on 'SWIFTY'S GARAGE', a site dedicated to '3-inchers' (c1/64th scale models), doing the Matchbox Ambassador's Report. If it is our Nigel, nice to know he is still actively connected to Matchbox products.

Nigel has several rooms in his house filled with Matchbox toys on display, He is currently installing a model railway into his loft space. His collection is second to none.
