I was in the process of sorting something out to trade with Wolfie (Early Toy) but was so hard to find anything of interest as he had it all. He was well known for his Kingsize knowledge but also was into anything Matchbox which most didn't give him credit for. I never met him and only, like most, traded and chatted with emails over the years.
He will be sadly missed but mostly remembered for the joy he bought to this hobby - hope you are up there chatting with Jack & Les, Wolfie and all those others before you who have passed onto higher things.

I only just heard the news this morning. I was a little busy over the last few days and had barely been online to do anything. I feel very sad at the moment. Wolfie was a great person and I have some fond memories of our meetings at the MICA conventions. He and his wife often used to be seated at our table for the dinners on Saturday evenings, and we would chat for ages about various things. I remember one of the last conventions selling him a 2003 20-pack which he had not been able to get at the time, and I had some spares due to a mess up my end.

He will be very sorely missed. I really regret not managing to get down to visit him recently. It was on my list of things to do and sadly I never got around to it.

Very sorry to hear of this sad news, my heartfelt condolences to Wolfie's Family and Friends.

I did not know him, other than from reading his posts, yet his posts seemed to reflect a genuine willingness and giving nature, of a man, who not only truly enjoyed his hobby, but who also enjoyed, passing along his knowledge and expertise of it, to others, in the collecting community.
I'm sure he will be greatly missed, but always remembered.

Wolfie was a legend in the world of matchbox collecting. I received this shocking news just hours ago and his loss is going to be tremendous and long lasting.
He was a fellow collector of matchbox kings and just a few weeks ago I exchanged pictures with him of the K94 airport fire tender which he so enthusiastically posted in the kingsize forum. This made me smile as I could see his passion and love for the hobby. I had the opportunity of meeting Wolfie and his gracious wife before and that visit will forever be the highlight of our friendship. My condolences to Gail and family. May you rest in peace Wolfie, certainly in matchbox heaven.

I simply cannot believe and devastated by what ive just read.I had full confidence when Wolfie reported that his op was over and his recuperation was coming along just fine.He really loved his Matchbox models,a truly passionate collector of good cloth.
We will miss you very much Wolfie and will be always thinking about you and your dedicated contributions...RIP,
