The following images are a step by step guide to posting pictures directly from your computer, I have been asked by a forum member for help with doing this, so many of you can skip this, but some are still finding it a little difficult.

It is represented by 'Screen Grabs' of a Laptop using Windows 'Vista' basic, so the images may differ from your own actual images on your computer.

Hi guys,

This is not the correct place for the tip below, but is connected and will be handy.

It is using the 'Drag-N-Drop' method of saving images from the old Lefora site.

Pop into the site, open an image, minimise the page so you have only got it on the left hand side of your screen, open a pictures folder, minimise this and put it on the right hand side of the screen.

Now just put your cursor on the Lefora image, hold down the left click button and slide it across with your mouse or touch pad, into any space on the right hand side, and it is now in a folder on your PC for posterity.

The image below shows exactly how it all looks.

Hi Guys and in particular Johnboy,

Here is a quick way to view any images posted by members that you want to study, without having to use the 'Sliders' for scrolling etc.

Minimise the V.B.D. Forum so it takes up about Seven Eighths of your screen, open a spare folder in your Pictures folder, (preferably named 'Forum Images etc' or something similar), and use the 'Drag-N-Drop' method.

This allows you to view the image, in full, at your leisure, and you can go back to that image at any time, without going into the forum, just to look at that image for research etc.

The image below shows exactly how it all looks and you will notice that the smaller image that you are 'Dragging' into your folder, is the fullsize image originally posted.

For clarity, I have left the image of a large file size so just left click on it, (or even use the method described above).

Just a reminder about the 'Drag-N-Drop' feature mentioned in the two posts above.

It does not appear to work if your 'Browser' is Internet Explorer, the default software in your computer helping you 'Browse' the internet.

So as I mention in an earlier post, you will have to change it to Google Chrome or Firefox, (tested by Johnboy), that have been proven to allow the 'Drag-N-Drop' feature to work.

I just "dragged and dropped" a random photo from earlier in this thread to my desktop as a test. I'm using Internet Explorer, and it worked fine. It does pop up a window asking if you want to allow content from this site or something; I clicked "yes" and no problem.

OK Big Al, that's good news, if you do just the odd picture to your Desktop, not a problem, just remember to delete it later, put in a folder later, or put it in a folder in your Pictures folder, the more stuff on your Desktop the PC has to run, the slower your PC will work so you don't really want pictures all over your Desktop...!

But as a test fine.

Thanks, GHOSTHUNTER... that explains a lot! I don't really keep many pics on the desktop, but it is kind of full of things. I never knew that could be a slow-down. Between that and the federal government recording my every keystroke, no wonder my computer is slow!

Thanks for all the info Ghosty. Oh the joys of internet explorer, I think it must behave differently depending upon the version of windows & ie being used, the security settings, the add-ons, blah blah blah
